NEW DELHI: Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan held a virtual meeting with all states and union territories on Friday to assess physical and financial progress made under the National Health Mission (NHM), the Emergency COVID Response Package (ECRP)-II, the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), 15th Finance Commission grants, and the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PM-NDP).

The Centre has given states and UTs until December 31 to complete all proejcts under the ECRP-II programme. States were also informed that, instead of obtaining approval from the Union Health Ministry, State Health Societies (SHS) have been given authority to grant the remaining licences for ECRP-II activities.

The states were notified that 100% of the Central share amount has been transferred to them, emphasising the necessity to expedite the use of funds received under the ECRP-II package.

The Union Health Secretary emphasised that allotted government resources under the National Health Mission must be expedited and used efficiently to ensure the implementation of programmes and initiatives. He asked states to produce the requisite documentation and utilisation certifications matching money usage, as well as to ensure that any funds that were not utilised were refunded.

The governments were also asked to use the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) interface to map these transactions.
