The Data breach of 32 million debit cards of India’s several bank customers was informed to the Bank institution way before the actual scenario. The Banks overlooked the warning of the CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team) who is the watchdog for the cyber attacks.

The CERT issued several Advisories to the Banks about the possible Data breach that could happen as they were aware of the vulnerability that were spotted in the Adobe Acrobat and Reader which could have allowed these attackers to execute the arbitrary code and therefore they can bypass the security of their target systems.

A report published in The Economic Times said that the CERT-in had indicated that such an attack may generate from Pakistan in the wake of the 'surgical strikes' by the Indian Army across the Line-of-Control (LoC) targeting the terror launch pads.

Following the breach, country’s largest bank State Bank of India and its subsidiary banks blocked about 6.25 lakh debit cardsof their customers. In the wake of suspicious transactions at third-party ATM machines.
