Cess increases by 5% on luxury cars and 7% on SUVs

After the GST Council meeting, the cess on cars has been increased. GST Council approved this increase ceases. On luxury cars, cess has increased 5% and SUV has increased 7%.

However, there has been no change in cess on small cars. After the meeting, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that there has been no change in cess on small cars and 13-seater vehicles.

While the cess on the SUV has been increased by 7 percent. After meeting, the GST has been reduced to 12 percent on the rubber band. GST will not be used on non-branded food products. The Finance Minister informed that after GST, there has been an increase in registration in July. The government has received 95000 crore revenues from GST in July. 70% of the registered taxpayers have filed returns after the GST is implemented.

GST Council has decided that a committee of Ministers will be formed which will be in touch with GST Network, to ensure that the change is being done comfortably. He said that the meeting reviewed the work of GST Network which was overloaded on 2-3 occasions. It has been resolved.
