C'garh: Congress fails ‘to pass No confidence motion move’ against Raman Singh led Govt

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], December 23 (NT): The no-confidence motion moved by the main Opposition in opposition to the Raman Singh led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government was unsuccessful after a night long argue in the Chhattisgarh Assembly as  48 votes cast against it on the fourth and final day of the winter session in the state Assembly.

On the other hand, Thirty-eight votes were acknowledged in favor of the motion,

The dispute between the state government and the Congress party continued till 7 a.m. today.

The day before, the Congress party claimed with a 168-point `charge sheet' in the Chhattisgarh Assembly as a part of its no-confidence motion in opposition to the present state government.

Raman Singh had called the no-confidence motion passed by the Congress in the state Assembly not in favor of the government as "inadequate and pathetic".

Addressing the media reporters, Singh said that he has not seen such a cold proposal in the last 15 years.

In the no-confidence motion move, the Congress had listed 200 points to aim the BJP government mostly on the subjects of farmers' suicide, alleged PDS scam, and bonus to farmers, arrests of journalist and law and order. (NT)
