The eighth day of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Mahagauri. It is said that worshipping Goddess Mahagauri on this day leads to the attainment of happiness and all happiness. In fact, it is believed that Goddess Mahagauri is unfailing fruit and the sins of previous lives are also destroyed by their worship.
Goddess's form - The worship of Goddess is considered to be welfare and Mata is Gauravarni and all her jewelery and clothes are white due to which Goddess Mahagauri is also known as Shvetambardhara. You all must know that the Goddess is the four-breasted stripe and their vehicle is Taurus, hence the Goddess is also called Vrisharuda. Let everyone tell you that the upper hand of Goddess Mahagauri is Abhaya Mudra and the lower hand is holding a trident. In the upper left hand there is a damru and in the lower hand, there is a groom posture. Indeed, it is believed that the goddess had done a hard penance to get Mahadev as her husband and due to this, the body of the goddess had turned black but pleased with the austerity of Goddess Mahagauri, Lord Shiva gave her black body to the Ganges. Was made radiant by washing it with pure and clean water. This made Mata Gauravarni and she was named Mahagauri.
Mantra- श्वेते वृषे समारूढ़ा श्वेताम्बरधरा शुचिः. महागौरी शुभं दद्यान्महादेवप्रमोदया॥
Pooja Vidhi of Mata Mahagauri - You should first wear yellow clothes to worship Mata Mahagauri and then dedicate Kumkum, Akshat, Turmeric, Henna, Abir, Gulal, Bangles, clothes etc. to Mata. After this, offer fruits, dry fruits and sweetmeats. Now after this, place a lamp and incense sticks in front of the Goddess and offer yellow flowers to the Goddess. Remember, chant the above mantra. It is said that worshipping Ashtami at midnight gives you the best results.
