Dehradun: Chamoli police have clarified the alleged offering of prayers by Muslim workers on Bakrid day in Badrinath Dham, one of the four hindu shrines. Chamoli police have termed reports of prayers being offered at Badrinath Dham as false, baseless and misleading.  Chamoli SP Yashwant Singh Chauhan said a parking lot is being constructed in Badrinath, which is one km away from the temple. The parking lot is being constructed by a contractor named Narendra Panwar. This contractor has called Muslim workers to work.

According to police, 15 such workers offered prayers in a closed room, without loudspeakers and clerics, at 7 a.m. on July 21. But there was no event during this time. However, he has also said that there is no evidence to offer prayers, nor is there any picture. SP Yashwant Singh Chauhan said these workers live in the same under construction parking lot. According to police, rumours are being circulated on social media in the case and people are sharing misinformation without confirming it which is wrong. He said chamoli police request people not to share any misleading posts without verifying the facts.

According to police, since locals alleged that a large number of people were present there, the police have also registered a case under the DM Act in the case. The investigation is on and will be processed if some evidence comes to light.
