Guwahati: Most of the complaints at tourist centres are pollution from visiting tourists. Tourists visit tourist centres, but garbage, empty containers, plastic bottles brought along are thrown away, which is harmful to the environment and harms it. In the midst of all this, there are some people who become close to others.

Assam resident Chandan Nath is one such citizen who has become an example in the campaign against plastic today. Chandan has launched a unique campaign to check pollution from tourists visiting Kaziranga. Chandan lives in the Kaziranga area and takes visiting tourists to Kaziranga National Park for safari. Carrying plastic bottles is prohibited in this area and people like Chandan Nath also request tourists not to carry plastic water bottles.

Chandan Nath provides bamboo bottles grown in the area to ensure that tourists do not face problems if they do not carry water bottles. It is neither harmful to tourists nor to the environment. For the last three years, Chandan Nath has been replacing a plastic bottle with a bamboo bottle worth only Rs. 20 to tourists visiting Kaziranga. Interestingly, Chandan himself makes these bottles and sells them to tourists.
