Lucknow: BHIM Army Chief Chandrashekhar alias Ravan has made it clear in a media interaction on Tuesday that he will contest the 2022 UP assembly elections in an alliance. Chandrashekhar has said that he will contest in the alliance itself. He said discussions are on with the Samajwadi Party (SP). Our alliance will be finalby December 3. However, it is certain that we will contest the assembly elections in the alliance itself.

Chandrashekhar has said that talks with the SP are underway but the matter is yet to reach a turning point. He said he has not yet met Akhilesh Yadav but everything will be finalised by December 3. On the other hand, the party has so far joined several smaller parties to win the assembly elections. In the same vein, it is believed that BHIM Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad's Azad Samaj Party may also accompany the SP.

Chandrashekhar, while holding a press conference in Lucknow on Sunday, had said that a meeting of the Core Committee of the BHIM Army is underway. What the committee decides will be our decision. When asked by reporters that he was going to contest alone, Chandrashekhar had said that it would be better for the state and the country if all parties come together with a meaningful effort to stop the BJP. On the other hand, Chandrashekhar said politics is not just about winning elections but ensuring population-wise participation.
