After the success of India's Chandrayaan-1 campaign, Indian scientists have now focused on Chandrayaan-2 campaign. NASA is also participating in this Chandrayaan mission, USA's Space Research Organization. NASA's two-laser equipment testing the moon will be sent to the moon through the Indian moonlight and Israeli Beresheet. These devices are called laser retroreflectors.

NASA officials informed about this in a Conference held at Texas, US last week, NASA confirmed that Chandrayaan 2 and Israeli lander Beresheet, which is due to touch down April 11, will each carry a NASA-owned laser retroreflector arrays. The joint operation of NASA and ISRO will help in measuring the distance between Earth and Moon accurately.

The device that runs on the Moon with the help of the Indian Chandrayan, will launch a special type of laser light signals towards the Earth. The timing of the laser light will be recorded after the launch of the Earth. The signals can help pinpoint precisely where the lander is, which scientists can use to precisely calculate the Moon’s distance from Earth. Earlier NASA had tried to find the exact distance between the Earth and Moon.
