New Delhi: Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover sent to the moon under Chandrayaan-2 mission have not been contacted by scientists of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) yet. Under the Chandrayaan-2 mission launched on 22 July, a soft landing was to be made on the lunar surface of the Vikram lander on 7 September. But contact with it was lost just above the moon's surface.

Chandrayaan-2: A very important day for ISRO today, NASA to release pictures of 'Vikram Lander'

Now today is the last day of contact with Vikram Lander. If the scientists of ISRO could not succeed in this, then they may never be contacted. The reason behind this is that its mission life was only 14 days, which ends today.

Efforts to reconnect with the lander, which reached the lunar surface with a hard landing on the morning of September 7, have so far failed. The duration of one day of Moon is similar to 14 days of Earth. According to the astronomer, the sunlight is towards the end. Later this afternoon, the south pole of the moon will sink completely into darkness.

ISRO had earlier set a 14-day working period for Vikram Lander. Now the entire focus is on the orbiter. ISRO will achieve all its set targets by the orbiter. The orbiter is 100 percent correct. All 8 payloads on the orbiter are fully active. They are constantly working according to plan.
