COVID-19 pandemic isn't the end of the world. But poor nutrition is. Prof. Sunita Mishra is a specialist in the field of nutrition and health. Having worked for 13 years as Professor and Dean SHS and Head, Food and Nutrition and HDFS in Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhimrao Central University, Lucknow, she's also earned a Doctor of Letters from CCS University, Meerut. She's an academician and nutritionist.

Most importantly, she's been invited to noteworthy International conferences due to her relentless efforts and hard work in the field. She's authored more than 320 research papers and has been mentioned in 250 International Journals. She's a Visiting Professor abroad. She's been a guide to 18 Ph.D students who strive hard to complete it under her guidance.

There's a list of awards and laurels she's won throughout her professional career.  In 2018, Prof. Sunita Mishra received the International Award, LifeTime Achievement Award in Bali, Indonesia. She's been an award-holder for the beautiful work she's done over so many years.

Apart from this, there's so much she does as an academician. Prof. Sunita Mishra is an assessor for NAAC for educational institutions. She was a part of the UGC Committees for Centres of Excellence. As an expert academician, she’s inspected colleges and universities for their affiliation. Her role includes conducting examinations as the Dean of the Faculty.

She's also conducted programmes on nutritional awareness and health and hygiene of children as well as women. Her outstanding participation in Anemia Mukt Abhiyan in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh is important. She often talks about the need to combat and eradicate anemia and how we can do it. Over the years, she's developed numerous value added products by using indigenous food grains, herbs, seeds, etc. These have immensely helped combat diseases such as anemia, diabetes and hypertension.

She's done extensive research in the field of nutrition and health. And, her inspiring UGC project in 2010-14 which took place in Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi districts of Odisha, revolved around tribal population and their nutritional awareness. She's the true role model in terms of women empowerment and truly, an ideal role model for all youngsters, middle-aged people and elderly alike. An ode to her! We hope that she goes on to achieve a lot more in her journey of spreading nutritional awareness in tribal as well as rural areas along with combating and eradicating anemia as a whole.
