Dehradun: Every day, in the incidents of increasing crime, one or the other case is heard, the smuggler recently arrested with more than 10 kilograms of charas has been sentenced to 20 years rigorous punishment by the NDPS court. The court of Special Judge NDPS Subir Kumar has also imposed a fine of Rs two lakh on the smuggler, who has ordered to face additional punishment of two years for non-payment.

According to information received from sources, it has been learned that the smuggler was arrested by the Nehru Colony Police in the year 2013. Government advocate Manoj Kumar Sharma said that on July 8, 2013, Sub-Inspector Girish Negi of the police station Nehru Colony was on patrol with his hamlet. At the same time, he received information from the informer that a person is coming to Doon for smuggling charas in large quantities. On this, he caught the smuggler from culvert number six.

For information, let us tell you that 10.316 kg of charas was recovered in the bag found from his possession. After this, he was taken to the concerned jurisdictional office, where he called his name Kundan Singh resident village Punara, Mori Uttarkashi. A case under NDPS Act was filed against him. A total of eight witnesses were produced in this case by the prosecution, on the basis of which the court sentenced him on Saturday.
