Out of the four dhams, the dham of Gangotri and Yamunotri temple will open only on April 26 on the due date of Akshaya Tritiya. The pilgrimage priests of both the dhams say that the traditions will be discharged only under the rules of lockdown. Gangotri temple committee chairman Pt Suresh Semwal said that the kapats of Gangotri Dham are opened only on the auspicious festival of Akshaya Tritiya. The business side of the Char Dham Yatra is different, but the discharge of religious tradition is necessary.

Along with this, due to the disasters, it has happened many times, when the doors of the dham opened, but the Char Dham Yatra did not last. Yamunotri temple committee vice-president Jagmohan Uniyal also says that the Yamunotri Dham's opening date is scheduled on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. The Char Dham Yatra will only go on if the situation is normal, but the ancient tradition of opening the doors will be discharged.

For your information, let us tell you that following the rules of lockdown and social distance, the Doli Yatra from Kharsali to Yamunotri Dham and outline of the opening of the trek is prepared and permission has been sought from the administration in this regard. Such events are prohibited. The rules of lockdown and social distance will be followed even during the tradition of opening the doors of dhams. No one other than a limited number of pilgrimage priests will be allowed to go to the dham for opening the doors.
