Dehradun-Uttarakhand: The Uttarakhand Tourist Development Council said on Monday that more than 2.50 lakh pilgrims had already registered for the Chardham Yatra.

1.39 lakh people have registered for Kedarnath Dham. The UTDC reported that 1.14 lakh registrations have been made to visit Badrinath Dham.

On April 22, the piligrims will be allowed access to Gangotri-Yamnotri. While Badrinath Dham and Kedarnath will open on April 25 and 27, respectively.

The Rudraprayag district administration has begun making plans for the Chardham Yatra, according to information provided by the officials on Saturday.

The snow at the Kedarnath Dham and the pedestrian pathways in Kedarnath have begun to be cleared by the district government, according to the officials.

Before to the Chardham Yatra, the Uttarakhand Tourist Development Council (UTDC) announced that it will provide tokens for darshan.

One of the most well-known Hindu pilgrimages in India is the Chardham Yatra, which is held in Uttarakhand. Four holy places located in the Himalayas, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, are visited during this pilgrimage.

The high-altitude shrines are closed for about six months each year, starting in the spring (April or May) and ending as winter approaches (October or November).

Elabora arrangements are being made to make the journey of pilgrims coming from the country and the world easy and safe. This time also a new record will be created in the number of devotees visiting Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. 

There are small and big hotels, lodges, restaurants in Kedarnath, Guptkashi, Phata, Sersi, Sitapur, Rampur, Sonprayag and Gaurikund. Where there is a lot of crowd of devotees during the travel time. The doors of Kedarnath are opening from 25th April this year, for this the operators of these establishments have started getting bookings. A full-scale Char Dham yatra which resumed in 2022 after a break of two years due to COVID-19.

In a meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi to review preparations for the Yatra, Tourism Secretary Sachin Kurve said that apart from the designated website, pilgrims also have the option of registering through phone and WhatsApp. Registrations for the Char Dham Yatra started on February 21.
