That David Dhawan's 2013 box-office success Chashme Baddoor which had starred Taapsee Pannu, Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma, is getting a sequel is no new news. A lot of speculation regarding the cast of the movie has been doing the rounds on the internet over the past few months.

While it was rumoured earlier that Jacqueline Fernandez and Kartik Aaryan, who was supposed to feature alongside each other in the remake of the 2016 Kannada rom-com Kirik Party, will be seen in the sequel, it looks like another unusual pairing altogether is going to make the cut. A new report published in Mumbai Mirror claims that the title of the same has been locked as Chashme Baddoor 2 and Fatima Sana Shaikh alongside Sunny Singh of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety fame will be seen in the rom-com.

“The idea was to have a fresh pairing, and after Sunny who is being appreciated for his special appearance in the recently released De De Pyaar De came on board, the makers are now in talks with Fatima and hopeful of getting her no," the tabloid quoted a source to have said.

The report goes on to claim that Jacqueline was indeed the first choice for the leading lady but things apparently couldn't work out. “It is currently in prep with the team zeroing in on the locations and getting the logistics in place,” the source informed the publication further. The makers are reportedly scouting for more actors to be roped in for the sequel.
