After the phenomenal success of its Mini electric car, which was the second-best-selling EV in 2020 with 119,255 units sold, Wuling HongGuang has introduced a new model. It has chosen the moniker Nano, which is the term Indians identify with Tata Motors' smallest production car ever. The Wuling Nano will not only be the world's tiniest electric automobile, but it will also be one of most affordable. If rumours are to be accepted, it may also become the world's cheapest electric vehicle.

The Wuling Nano EV will be offered at a price of not more than 20,000 yuan, according to CarNewsChina (roughly converted to Rs 2.30 lakh). As a result, the Nano EV might be even less expensive than a Maruti Alto. If this is accurate, Nano will undoubtedly be less expensive than the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, China's best-selling tiny electric vehicle. At the 2021 Tianjin International Auto Show, Wuling Hong Guang, part of the broader SAIC-GM-Wuling group of carmakers in the world's largest EV market, unveiled the new electric car Nano EV.
The model appears to be a modified version of Wuling's Baojun E200. This Nano EV is designed for city use, with only two seats and a turning radius of less than four metres.

The Nano EV is even smaller than the Tata Nano, measuring 2,497 mm in length, 1,526 mm in width, and 1,616 mm in height. It has a 1,600 mm wheelbase as well. The Tata Nano has a length of almost 3 metres.

The Nano EV is powered by a 33-hp electric motor that generates 85 Nm of torque. It can also go at speeds of up to 100 km/h. Under the seat of the Nano EV will be put an IP67-certified lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 28 kWh. The battery of this small electric car allows it to go 305 kilometres on a single charge. A normal 220-volt home outlet, according to Wuling, takes 13.5 hours to fully recharge the battery. It also comes with a 6.6 kW AC charger that can charge the EV to full capacity in roughly 4.5 hours.

Despite its little size, the NAno EV is equipped with safety measures. It has ABS brakes with electronic stability control (ESC) and electronic brake distribution (EBD), as well as electronic parking brakes and Isofix child seat mounts. It also has a pedestrian warning system for low speeds.

A reverse camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, air conditioning, keyless entry, telematics system, LED headlights, and a 7-inch digital screen are all included with the Nano EV.
