Bhopal: In Bhopal, the capital of MP, an incident of cheating by giving advertisements on OLX has come to the fore. Police has arrested a criminal in this incident. This game of cheating was going on in the name of providing cheap iPhone. Bhopal's Cyber Crime Branch police team is interrogating the arrested criminal. According to the news, Nirman Nigam, a resident of Bhopal's Kolar, had given a complaint to the Cyber Crime Branch that in the name of purchasing mobile phones of iPhone company at a low price on OLX, they have been cheated of Rs 1 lakh 94 thousand 233.
In this case, Cyber Crime Branch started investigation by registering a case against unknown mobile number and account holder under section 420 of IPC. Due to the investigation, the Cyber Crime Branch caught a criminal named Shahrukh Akhtar from Ghaziabad on the basis of technical analysis and other important information. Five mobile phones, two debit cards and six SIM cards have been recovered from the possession of the criminal. The police team has also taken information about the bank accounts used in this incident on behalf of the criminal. The team of Cyber Crime Branch is conducting raids in search of other members of this gang.
According to the police, the criminal told during interrogation that he used to advertise on OLX to provide iPhone mobile phones at low prices. On being contacted by the customers, they were sent after preparing the photo of the mobile of the iPhone and the fake bill. Taking advantage of the trust of the customers, huge amount was collected from the customers in the name of non-delivery on pincode, gatepass, delivery fee and other charges and mobile was not even given. After this incident of fraud came to light, the Cyber Crime Branch has issued an advisory saying that only purchase from official, registered brand stores. Always be careful while shopping from social pages, mobile applications where you can buy and sell goods. Avoid fake ads with low prices and tempting offers. Get information about the genuineness and exact price of the goods.
