The cops of Antarvedi set up the checkpoints to monitor the movement of people to the temple of Antarvedi village. The checkposts are made basically on Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district. This was done on  Wednesday, just after the videos of crowds barging into the temple courtyard emerged.

As per one of resident of Malkipuram village,  the Police has set up the checkposts and questioned people for the reason they wanted to head in the direction of Antarvedi. The cops are giving permission to pass only after cross-checking. A check post was also set up near Gudimellanka bridge, from where the road heads to Antarvedi via Malkipuram. East Godavari Superintendent of Police Adan Nayeen Asmi has already requested to devotees to visit the temple in a lesser amount amid concerns about law and order. However, it is confirmed that the situation is not tense.

The videos of people barging into the temple on Tuesday cropped up, which showed the police was not able to control the crowd. Waving saffron flags and chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’, the people ran into the temple courtyard. Later, the crowd was seen chanting slogans and singing religious songs on a nearby road, demonstrating against the loss of the chariot .As per the sources, a few policemen were beaten up in the scuffle, leading to tightening of security and setting up of checkposts.
