New Delhi: In the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) season, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) must be missing their old batsman Suresh Raina. The reason for this is that the condition of the Chennai team in the current tournament has deteriorated. They lost the first three matches. On Sunday, CSK suffered their second biggest defeat in the IPL in terms of runs. In this match, batting first after losing the toss, Punjab Kings (PBKS) scored 180 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

In response, Ravindra Jadeja's team was bowled out for just 126 runs in 18 overs. In this fold, the Chennai team lost the match by 54 runs. This is Chennai's second-biggest defeat in the IPL. Chennai's biggest defeat was against Mumbai Indians in 2013. Then the Chennai team had to face defeat by 60 runs. Fans are now afraid that CSK's condition may not become like IPL 2020. In that season, the Chennai team had won only 6 out of 14 matches and finished second from the bottom, i.e. 7th. Even in that season, Suresh Raina did not play in the IPL due to some domestic reason.

Now for the current i.e. 2022 season, CSK did not retain Suresh Raina nor did he bid on him in the mega auction. This time Raina did not find any buyer in the auction. In such a situation, it will not be wrong to say that Raina is not all in CSK. Suresh Raina is also known as Mr IPL. Raina played 200 matches for CSK, scoring 5529 runs in 195 innings at an average of 33.10. During this, his strike rate has also been 138.91. Raina has scored two centuries and 38 half-centuries while playing for CSK. The Chennai team was suspended in the middle for two years (2016-17). During that time Raina played 5 matches for Gujarat Lions. Raina is in fourth place among the highest run-scorers in IPL.

In the last IPL season, Raina played 12 matches for CSK, in which he scored only 160 runs at a poor average of 17.77. His best score in that season was 54 runs. Raina's performance in that season may have been poor, but last season, the Chennai team was the IPL winner.
