Today is the third day of Chhath Puja. Chhath Vrat is said to be one of the most difficult fasts. In this fast, women wish for the long life of their children. For this, she keeps a total of 36 hours of Nirjala fast. Chhath Puja begins with Nahay Khay on Chaturthi Tithi and ends after offering Arghya to the rising sun on Saptami.

Importance of sindoor in Chhath Puja - It is said that the fast of Chhath is also kept for the long life of the husband. For this reason, sindoor, the symbol of Suhag, is given importance in this worship. On the day of Chhath Puja, women observe fast with great devotion and penance for their husbands and children. In Hinduism, after marriage, the ritual of filling vermilion in considered as good fortune.

Even in Chhath Puja, women apply long vermilion from the nose to the head. It is said that married women should wear vermilion and make it visible to everyone. It is said that this vermilion should start from the forehead because this increases the age of the husband. It is also believed that whatever women perform Chhath Vrat with full rules, Chhath Maiya fills their family with happiness and prosperity.
