Sukma: An ASI has shot himself with a service rifle at a CRPF camp in Gadiras in the Naxal-affected city of Sukma, Chhattisgarh. The reason behind the CRPF battalion soldier taking such a step is not yet known. The deceased soldier's name is stated as ASI Shivanand. He was originally from Karnataka. The police have started investigating the case. The corpse of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem.

ASI Shivanand was a resident of Bidar town in Karnataka. As per the information received, ASI Shivanand deployed in CRPF 2 battalion of Gadiras police station was normal in the morning. He also went to play with his colleagues as usual. Returning from there, he shot himself with his rifle. Hearing the sound of the bullet, there was a stir in the camp. When fellow soldiers went and saw, the dead body was found soaked in blood. Information was given to the police. Investigation of the case is being done.

It was also told that the matter took place at around eight in the morning on Wednesday. The soldiers in the camp suddenly heard the sound of the bullet. This sound came from the soldiers' barracks. When they arrived at the barrack, it was found that ASI shot himself with his AK 47 rifle. The soldier died as soon as he was shot. The reason for the suicide is not known yet. The police is investigating the case. Information is also being given to the young man's family.
