Raipur: A soldier shot dead one of his companions and injured another at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. The shocking thing is that the jawan also shot himself after carrying out the incident. As of now, the reasons behind the incident have not been known. A police officer has given information about this case.

Police have said that the jawan later allegedly tried to shoot himself as well. He is undergoing treatment for some mental illness. Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundararaj P has told the media that the incident took place at 8 am in the camp of the 241st 'Bastariya Battalion' of CRPF in Serwa Police Station. He has told that for the treatment of mental problem, constable Girish Kumar (25), who was admitted in the separate ward of the camp, snatched his partner's rifle and fired on him and others. He has said that Constable Pramod Kumar Saari (27) of them died on the spot, while the other Constable Santosh Vachham (27) was injured.

Giving further information, he has told that later Kumar also shot himself and he was seriously injured. According to the police officer, both the injured personnel have been taken to a hospital in Jagdalpur where they are being treated. From there they will be brought to Raipur. He has said that the motive behind this incident is being ascertained.
