Raipur: The case of fake purchase of 730 quintals of paddy worth about 18 lakhs has come to light in Bhaskarapali, the paddy procurement center of Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh. The investigation team of the district administration has found 730 quintals of paddy less in the paddy procurement center Bhaskarapali. As soon as the information of the arrival of the investigation team was received, the paddy procurement in-charge ran away from the paddy procurement center. In the case of paddy being found less in the center, the officials are talking about taking action.

Let us tell you that, for paddy procurement year 2022-23 in the entire Chhattisgarh, paddy was procured from farmers on support price from 01 November 2022 to 31 January 2023. In the Mahasamund district, 169 paddy purchase centers were set up to purchase paddy from the farmers at the support price, where paddy was being procured. Some paddy in the district, without bringing it to the procurement centers, was shown as fake purchases online, whereas paddy was not physically purchased at all. As the investigation is going on, the forgery is being revealed.

According to the report, a total of 63,492 quintals of paddy has been purchased online till January 31, 2023, in paddy procurement year 2022-23 at Bhaskarapali, the paddy procurement center of Mahasamund district. When the district administration's investigation team investigated the paddy purchased at the purchase center Bhaskarapali, it found 730 quintals of paddy less, the cost of which has been said to be around Rs 18 lakh. Officials are also considering it as a fake purchase, because this time neither it rained at the time of purchase of the paddy, nor there was a delay in the lifting of the purchased paddy.
