Bilaspur: A case of assault on a vegetable shopkeeper in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh has caught fire. On Friday, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), local businessmen and others shouted slogans surrounding the police station. Angry people broke the hoardings of 2 shops and set it on fire. VHP activists have submitted a memorandum to the SDM demanding that those who assaulted the vegetable shopkeeper be not arrested within 24 hours which would be a violent agitation.

In Ghumarwin, on Wednesday, a shopkeeper selling local vegetables was beaten up by a resident of outskirts in a shop of District Federation on NH shore. Its complaint had lodged in the police station Ghumarwin. Some shopkeepers and organizations on Friday protested against taking action against the youths involved in the incident, demanding an arrest of the accused by submitting a memorandum to the SDM.
