Bilaspur: In Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, a tractor loaded with labourers went out of control and overturned in a water-filled pit, killing five people. According to reports, four labourers, including the driver, were on board the tractor during the accident. When the tractor, full of labourers, reached the village Atra under hiri police station area, the balance of the tractor was disturbed and it fell into a deep water pit.

The workers and drivers of the tractor also fell into the pit with the tractor and could not get out of the underneath of the tractor, killing all. It is worth mentioning that this phenomenon belongs to the Hiri police station area. Where power wire pulling is going on around Gram Panchayat Atra. The contractor has kept the Panchayat Bhavan as a store room where vehicles are used for working as well as labour living. The labourers leave here every morning for work and stay at night. On Sunday night, 1 tractor driver, including four labourers working from a nearby site, was returning to Panchayat Bhawan.

The tractor overturned in a water-filled pit as the balance deteriorated in this raw road of the village. The workers, including the driver, were also trapped under the tractor. The incident was reported to the police. The team rushed to the spot and late night police started evacuating tractors and labourers with the help of people nearby. The tractor was pulled out at about 1 p.m. Then the search for the workers was started. By morning, the bodies of all the 5 workers had been pulled out.
