Raipur: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel's father Nandkumar Baghel has been given bail three days after his arrest. On Friday (September 10, 2021), civil judge Janak Kumar Hidko's lawyer Gajendra Sonkar had applied for bail in the court. He was granted bail by the court after hearing both sides. He will now appear before the court on September 21.

Tell you that Nandkumar Baghel had made derogatory remarks about the Brahmin community in Lucknow on August 30. The Raipur Sarva Brahmin Samaj officials had then lodged a complaint against him at DD Nagar police station on September 4. On September 7, Raipur police (Police) arrested him and produced him before a lower court where he categorically refused to apply for bail, after which he was jailed in 15 days of judicial custody. Nand Kumar Baghel had said he would not seek bail. He will fight the case till the Supreme Court. However, later, his lawyer Sonkar filed a bail plea and sought an immediate hearing. Now he has got bail.

Before the case was registered and arrested, protests were held against Nandakumar in different cities of Chhattisgarh including the capital Raipur. Subsequently, a case under Section 153A and Section 505(1)(B) of The Indian Penal Code was registered against Nand Kumar Baghel following a written complaint at DD Nagar police station in Raipur.
