Raipur: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has reacted strongly to the statement made by Nupur Sharma against Prophet Mohammad. He said that we should respect other religions. India is a country of diversity. If you create an atmosphere of hatred against others, India's image in front of Muslim countries will be tarnished in the same way. Is it right that the Muslim country should condemn India?

Amidst protests by some religious groups and the strong response from countries like Kuwait, Qatar and Iran, the BJP had issued a statement clarifying on the matter. The party had asserted that it respects all religions and strongly condemns the insult to any religious personality. A Delhi Police officer said Nupur Sharma had complained about the constant threats being received. Then, he and his family have been provided security.

Suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and her family have been provided security by the Delhi Police following a complaint. Since the remarks, Nupur had been receiving death threats, against which she had filed a case in the police station seeking protection. Based on this FIR, the police have provided security to her and her family.
