The officials of Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission told here on Friday that the Electricity Act, 2003 aims to ensure quality and power supply to consumers without any cuts. To fulfill this, the State Electricity Regulatory Commission has been entrusted with the responsibility of fixing the quality criteria. Under this, the Chhattisgarh Electricity Regulatory Commission implemented the rule in the year 2006, but it did not have the criteria for non-reduction of power and non-compliance. The situation did not include the provision of compensation to consumers. Keeping this in mind, in place of the old rule, the Commission has notified the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Standards for execution of power distribution) Regulations, 2020 in May 2020.
