Raipur: Even on the occasion of Dussehra, Naxalites are not descending from their cowardly antics. The latest incident has emerged from Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, where Naxalites attacked the District Reserve Guard in a forested area. While giving a befitting reply to this attack, the DRG killed a Naxalite. However, a young man was also martyred in this encounter.

Actually, the District Reserve Guard team was patrolling in a wooded area under the Katekalyan Police Station in Dantewada district. As soon as the presence of DRG was detected, the Naxalites devised a strategy and suddenly started firing. The DRG started retaliation immediately after the Naxalite attack. There was tremendous firing from both sides and then in the action of DRG, a Naxalite was killed, but a Naxalite shot at a soldier. The young man became a martyr while fighting the Naxalites.

After this encounter, P Sundarraj, DIG, Anti-Naxal Operation, informed the media about the whole incident. He told that a DRG soldier has been martyred in the encounter which is yet to be done post mortem. He said that at present the search operation is going on in the area.
