New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader P Chidambaram has attacked the Central government over the Defence Ministry's statement that it has not transacted with Israeli company NSO. He has said that only PM Modi can respond to the matter, but why is he silent? In fact, Israel's NSO Group has developed Pegasus military-level spying software, which has been in the news in recent times. The Defence Ministry on Monday said it had not transacted with NSO.

P Chidambaram has now tweeted, "The Defence Ministry has "exonerated" itself from any deal with the NSO group, Israel. If the Ministry of Defence is correct, remove a Ministry/Department. What about the remaining half a dozen common suspects? Only the PM can respond on behalf of all ministries/departments, why is he silent?'' Earlier, a video was released by Congress urging PM Modi to listen to him. The 3-minute video released on Sunday is titled, 'Mr. Modi, listen to us.'

The video was shared by the leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge. With this, he wrote, 'It seems that PM Narendra Modi is scared. Why is he not willing to answer questions in Parliament? Opposition parties are ready for discussion in Parliament, but the BJP government is stopping the proceedings so that the truth does not reach the people.'
