Andhra Pradesh: Kannada power star Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on Friday following a heart attack. The news of his death filled the film industry with profound tragedy. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy condoled the demise of Puneeth and expressed deep condolences to the family members. Meanwhile, YSRCP MLA Roja condoled the actor's death. He tweeted, "Saddened and shocked to learn that Puneet Rajkumar is no more. My deepest condolences to the family, friends and fans. We will miss you."

The Kannada actor had complained of chest pain while in the gym and was immediately shifted to Vikram Hospital in Bangalore. Meanwhile, security has been tightened near Puneet Rajkumar's house and tight security around Vikram Hospital since his death. He was born on 17 March 1975. He is the youngest son of Kannada Matinee Murthy Dr Rajkumar and Parvathamma.

Puneeth Rajkumar (17 March 1975 – 29 October 2021), was an Indian actor, playback singer, television presenter and producer, who worked predominantly in Kannada cinema. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Actor for his role of Ramu in Bettada Hoovu. Apart from this, he also played the role of a child artist in many films. He also won the Karnataka State Award for Best Child Artist for Chalisuva Modagalu and Yeradu Nakshatragalu. Puneeth's first lead role was in 2002's Appu. He was one of the most famous personalities and highest paid actors in Kannada cinema. In 2012, he appeared in the game show Kannada Kotyadhipati, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
