Lucknow: If your children join the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Citizenship Register (NRC), then you may have to pay the price. State Child Rights Protection Commission member Dr Shuchita Chaturvedi has expressed strong objection to the involvement of children in the violence and picketing demonstrations. He said that if children are involved in demonstrations or any violent demonstrations against CAA, action will be taken against such parents who take them to the dharna.

Dr. Shuchita has also written a letter for this to DGP OP Singh. He said that chaos spread in children in protest and violence by shielding children and adolescents. Action should be taken against those who motivated them to take part in violent demonstrations to protect child interests. For this, under Section 3 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, there is a provision to take measures for the protection, protection and best interests of children.

He said that the protests are adversely affecting the mental development of children, which is a violation of the law. Therefore, parents should keep their children away from such protest demonstrations. If not done, legal action will be taken against them. The commission has also asked the DGP to inform his policemen about the JJ Act.
