The hopes of India's neighbor China have suffered a major setback as the people of Taiwan re-handed power to President Sai Ing-wen with an overwhelming majority. In the election results on Saturday, the first woman president in this island country regained power. According to the Central Election Commission, there are about 1931.1 million voters in 22 cities and counties of the country. Six percent of the total voters are between 20 and 23 years of age.

According to media reports, China does not accept Taiwan's independence, it considers it as its share. China does not like to speak of any country in Taiwan's affairs. America has expressed happiness over Sai's victory and congratulated him. Foreign Minister Mike Ponpio has expressed hope that she will try to forget the brutal pressure of China and bring stability in relations with it.

For your information, let us tell you that amid the increasing difference in the vote, Sai (63) came to his party's headquarters among supporters. Thousands of violent supporters, holding country and party flags in their hands, raised slogans and welcomed them. Sai said, Taiwan has shown the world how much it loves freedom and the democratic way of life. We love our country, it is our pride. The President said, she is keen on talks with China and wants peace in the region. So China should leave its negative antics, let the 2.3 crore people of the island decide the fate of the country.
