BEIJING:- A representative for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that the United States should immediately stop stealing Syria's sovereign resources.

U.S. occupation forces recently moved oil taken from Syria to the north of Iraq, and Syrian officials denounced the United States and its allies for acting precisely like pirates, Wang Wenbin made the comments during a press conference.

According to Wang, more than half of Syrians experience food insecurity, two-thirds of the population depends on humanitarian aid, and 90% of the population currently lives below the poverty line.

The U.S. military continues to occupy Syria's major grain and oil-producing regions, looting and plundering Syrian national resources and escalating the country's humanitarian crisis. Wang also noted that some Syrians have referred to the American presence in Syria as a form of terrorism, Wang said.
The United States  has always bragged about having the greatest standards for the rule of law and human rights, but its actions in Syria show that it actually falls short in these areas.

Wang said the United States should respect Syria's territorial integrity and sovereignty, heed the calls of the Syrian people, quickly ease sanctions against Syria, halt the theft of its natural resources, and make amends for the harm done to the Syrian people with practical measures.
