China denies coronavirus leaked from Wuhan lab

New Delhi: World is blaming China for giving birth to coronavirus which is wreaking havoc all around the world. However, China has now denied that coronavirus leaked from a laboratory in Wuhan. 

China has said that the virus is likely to have been caused due to separate outbreaks at different places in the world. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said that China was merely the first nation to report COVID-19 cases in the world.  In an interview to official media  on Sunday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said,  "More and more research suggests that the pandemic was likely to have been caused by separate outbreaks in multiple places in the world." Chunying also attacked US for alleging that corona emerged from a laboratory in Wuhan. He said US should consider inviting WHO experts to their country to investigate the origin of the virus from the Fort Detrick lab.

The overall number of global coronavirus cases has topped 85.6 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 1.85 million, according to the Johns Hopkins University.In its latest update on Tuesday morning, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 85,637,904 and 1,852,079, respectively.
