New Delhi: India, which is hoping to normalize relations with China on new year's eve, has once again suffered a major setback. In fact, China has once again staked its claim on the Galwan Valley. On January 1, 2022, in a provocative operation, China hoisted its national flag in its occupied Galwan Valley. After that, its propaganda machinery, including Chinese state media, started spreading the video vigorously on social media.

China's move in Galwan had an impact on Delhi's politics. Opposition parties hit out at the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and questioned when PM Modi would break his silence on Galwan. China, notorious for playing double games, gifted Indian soldiers in Demchok and Hot Spring areas of east Ladakh on New Year's Eve. This seemed to have finally begun to fill the rift in relations between the two countries. But a few hours later, China showed its colour.

The Global Times praised the hoisting of the flag by the Chinese army in Galwan and wrote, 'In the Galwan Valley, where it was written, never leave an inch of land, on January 1, PLA jawans greeted the Chinese people on the New Year.' Posting a video of the same event on Twitter, Shane Siwei, a person associated with Chinese state media, wrote, 'On the first day of 2022, the Chinese flag was hoisted on the Galwan Valley, this flag is very special because the same flag was once hoisted at Thianman Chowk.' On the other hand, rahul gandhi, furious at the central government over the issue, tweeted, 'Our tricolour on Galwan isgood. China has torespond. Modiji, Break thesilence.'Tell me rahul gandhi has gone abroad these days on a 'private visit', he is said to have gone to Italy. Rahul left India only on December 29.
