China scientists allege coronavirus born in India

The infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus was claimed to be developed in China. Recently, Chinese scientists in a statement said that the virus was developed and released by India.

The scientists of China are now arguing that the coronavirus originated in India in July-August 2019. They are saying that when an unbearable heatwave in May-June was passed that year forced animals and humans to share the same water sources. This theory of coronavirus origin is seen by many experts as Beijing’s latest effort to apportion blame outside their borders. A Glasgow University expert, David Robertson, said it “added nothing” to the understanding of Covid and was “inherently biased”. The Chinese argument states that it is possible to arrive at the origin of the virus by finding and studying the strain with the fewest mutations.

The University of California scientist Marc Suchard told in South China Morning Post: “Picking a viral sequence that appears to have the least number of differences to the others is unlikely to yield the progenitor.” The allege came at a time of border tensions between China and India. The scientists put forward several other nations as the possible origin of the virus, instead of Wuhan.
