According to Zheng Zhongwei, the officer of the National Health Commission of China, in June itself, China sent information about its vaccine to the WHO. China had started giving COVID-19 vaccine under the Emergency Approval to the millions of staff connected with the necessary service and many people from the high risk group. However, the phase-3 trial of the Chinese vaccine has not resulted so far that the vaccine can prove to be safe or effective.

Assistant Director General of the World Health Organization Dr. Marianzela Simao says that different countries have the right to allow emergency use of their medical products. WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan said this month that emergency approval of COVID-19 virus vaccine is a 'temporary solution'. Phase-3 trials need to be completed for long-term vaccine use.
