Texas' Republican Senator Lois Kolkhorst introduced a draft of this law in 2022.

Former US President Donald Trump has also expressed his support for this proposal. The local people are angry with foreigners acquiring land and other types of property in the name of farming. At the same time, China's Foreign Ministry has criticized this proposed law of the USA. China has called this move of America a violation of global trade rules.
