The coronavirus pandemic troubled the whole world. China has been held responsible for spreading coronavirus in the world. In the meantime, Dr Li-Meng, a Chinese virologist, has claimed that the coronavirus was prepared in a government-controlled laboratory and she has scientific evidence to prove its claim".

The scientist who recently worked in Hong Kong claimed, "She found out about a cover-up operation during her investigation and said that the Chinese government had become aware of the spread of the virus before it was publicly accepted". Dr Li-Meng, who specialised in virology and immunology from the Hong Kong School of Public Health, was allegedly forced to go to the US because of security concerns. On September 11, after moving to the US, she gave an interview to a website from a secret place.

She explained her research and challenges due to coronavirus disease. She said, "She conducted two types of research on 'new pneumonia' in China in late December and early January and shared the results with her superior who was an advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO). In addition, She said, she was expecting her supervisor to do the right thing on behalf of the Chinese government and the WHO, but she was very surprised when she was asked to maintain silence and threatened to be made disappear. In the meantime, the virologist said, "It is common for scientists to disappear in China, they are waiting to collaborate with the government and WHO to get more benefits to become safe but this was something urgent". According to her, nobody reacted because people were scared of the government.
