Kolkata: A Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader has been arrested by CBI on Friday in connection with the chit fund scam case in West Bengal. Earlier also, CBI Mamata Banerjee's party leaders have been accused in the chit fund scam case. According to information received, CBI has arrested TMC Leader of Burdwan Municipality and Chairman of Board of Administrators (BOA) Pranab Chatterjee in connection with allegations of corruption in chit fund case. Pranab Chatterjee was produced before the court after being arrested.

In the court, the CBI demanded that the TMC leader be remanded for four days. After which the court has ordered that Chatterjee be remanded to CBI for three days. According to the report, Pranab Chatterjee has opened his own company. Whose office he had also opened at his own house. From where he used to work as a chit fund. CBI raided Pranab Chatterjee's house on Friday and then arrested him. The investigating officers of the CBI conducted a continuous operation since Friday morning after which the arrests were made.

The incident has rocked the entire City of Burdwan. Just a few months ago, veteran Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Pranab Chatterjee was appointed administrator of the city. Naturally, news of a CBI raid on his house in the East Burdwan district has made headlines.
