LUCKNOW: The renowned Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang University in Chitrakoot, which serves as a distinguished institution for disabled students, is on the verge of acquiring the esteemed position of a state university.

In a significant move, the state cabinet has given its seal of approval to the Uttar Pradesh Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang State University Ordinance-2023, which is expected to be presented during the forthcoming legislative session.

Under the new arrangement, the Uttar Pradesh government will assume responsibility for overseeing the administration of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang University in Chitrakoot, thus transforming it into a state university. This decision was prompted by the esteemed university chancellor, Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, who, considering his advanced age and health concerns, appealed to the state government to undertake the management of this private disabled university.

Consequently, Uttar Pradesh will welcome its second university catering to the needs of disabled individuals, with the first being Shakuntala Misra Rehabilitation University located in Lucknow. The expansion of educational opportunities will extend to students from all walks of life, fostering their holistic development through access to quality education.
