Famous choreographer Saroj Khan was born on this day. She was born on 22 November 1948 in Mumbai and won everyone's heart with her dance. Saroj Khan's real name is Nirmala Nagpal. She entered the industry when she was 3 years old. She then held the title of Bollywood's famous choreographer. Her first film was 'Nazarna' in which she played the role of a girl named Shyama.

It is said that in the 50s, Saroj started working as a background dancer and she became a superhit choreographer. She took choreography training with B. Sohanlal. Her work got a good recognition after she joined the film 'Geeta Mera Naam' released in 1974 as an independent choreographer. She then choreographed the songs of the films 'Mr. India', 'Nagina', 'Chandni', 'Tezaab', 'Thanedar' and 'Beta' and all these songs rocked. Saroj taught dance to veteran actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi.

She choreographed more than 2000 songs. Talking about her marriage, she was first married to Master B. Sohanlal. Both had a gap of 30 years but had fallen in love, then they got married. Saroj Khan converted to Islam at the time of marriage. Talking about her husband, this was Sohanlal's second marriage. He had four children from his first marriage. In 1963, after the marriage of Saroj, she gave birth to her son Hamid (now known as Raju) but during that time Sohanlal refused to give his name to that child. There comes the distance between Saroj and Sohanlal and she later had a daughter. Saroj Khan is no longer in this world. She died at the age of 71 due to cardiac arrest.
