May 28, 2016:Phani Bhusan Choudhury was on Saturday sworn in as the pro-tem Speaker of the 14th Assam Legislative Assembly.

In the attendance of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at a function which held in the Durbar Hall in Raj Bhawan, the Assam Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Choudhury.

Phani Bhusan Choudhury is an AGP MLA.

On the event, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Chief Secretary V K Pipersenia and other dignitaries were present.

The governor has called the Assam Assembly to gather at 9 AM on June one.
