NEW DELHI: West Indies veteran Chris Gayle, who has been identified as an explosive batsman in the cricket world, set a unique record as he set a foothold in the second ODI against India. He has become the highest-playing player for the West Indies. Earlier, the record was named to another great batsman Brian Lara of the West Indies. Brian Lara played 299 ODIs for the West Indies team. This was Gayle's 300th match. Gayle is the first Indian batsman to score 23 centuries in ODIs.

He also has the highest record of hitting 326 sixes. He is the only player to hit a double century in ODIs for the West Indies. Gayle also broke Brian Lara's record as the batsman for the West Indies team, scoring 7th in his innings against Team India.

Chris Gayle has now become the highest scorer in THE ODI series against the West Indies. Chris Gayle's ODI score of 10353 has gone up to 10353 in the 7th match against India. Brian Lara scored 10348 runs in 295 games in ODI cricket for the West Indies. Brian Lara became the first player to complete 10,000 runs for the Caribbean team.
