Christmas Recipe: Try this delicious Plum cake this winter

We are all excited for Christmas. On the occasion, homes have Christmas trees and other decorations in the weeks leading to Christmas Day. Christmas is celebrated in different ways in different parts of the world. Some workplaces hold Christmas parties prior to December 25. Festive activities include exchanging presents, singing Christmas songs, going to parties. It's a special time when children get presents from family, friends and Santa Claus, or Father Christmas. Christmas cards are also given or sent out prior to Christmas Day. Food is also a very important part Christmas specially Dessert. One of the traditional recipe to make on Christmas is Plum cake.

Ingredients

·         100 gm sugar                                                               

·         2 drops vanilla essence

·         1 teaspoon dry yeast

·         120 gm flour

·         120 gm butter

·         5 gm baking powder

·         1 large baking tin

·         80 gm raisins

·         30 gm walnuts

·         40 gm chopped dried figs

·         150 ml red wine

·         100 ml beer

·         30 gm chopped cashews

·         120 gm tutti-frutti

·         40 gm chopped black dates

·         100 ml black rum

 

Chop the figs, dates, and cashew nuts into small pieces, and then soak them in the rum, red wine, and beer with the raisins and tutti-fruity. Additionally, before making the cake, rehydrate dry yeast in water for two to three hours.

Mix Butter and sugar, then vanilla essence is added. While continuously blending,. Once all the ingredients have been soaked, fold in the flour that has been sprinkled with baking powder.

A 1 kilogramme baking pan should be butter-greased and lightly dusted with flour. The cake batter should then be poured into the baking pan, followed by a piece of paraffin paper. The cake should be baked for 20 to 25 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius. Remove the cake from the mould, then set it aside to cool.

Place the sugar, and yeast in a clean, dry basin. Beat everything together on low speed with a hand whisk until incorporated. After then, turn off the whisk and scrape the bowl's sides. Now, beat the mixture on medium speed until it turns very thick, shiny,

At this point, you can add a bit more powdered sugar if you want the icing to be stiffer. After spreading the icing on the cake, let it dry.
