Kolkata: Corona outbreak continues in the country. Over 59 lakh people have been infected with the coronavirus in India, while more than 94,000 have lost their lives so far. Corona cases are growing rapidly, although Unlock 4.0 has come to an end. A lockdown was announced in the month of March last to reduce the spread of the coronavirus pandemic,

Thereafter, efforts are being made to bring the country back on track through Unlock in a phased manner. In this order, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has decided to open cinemas in the state from October 1. Mamata Banerjee herself tweeted and informed about the same. In a tweet, CM Mamata wrote, "Returning to normal circumstances, Jatras, play,  cinema, musical and dance programmes and magic shows will be allowed to open with 50 or less people from October 1. In the meantime, people will have to follow the rules of social dissing, wear masks and follow other protocols."

The move comes after the state government requested people belonging to the Bengali film industry and other groups to open theatres continuously. He said that the closure of theatres and other entertainment sectors is causing economic losses to businesses and employees. In view of the Corona crisis, the central government had ordered the closure of theatres and other events in the month of March last.
