Amid the ongoing lockdown in India, Groupe PSA has announced that it will now launch its Citroen C5 Aircross in India next year. Earlier, the company was going to launch this premium SUV later this year. The Citroen C5 Aircross will take on the Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tuscon. The C5 will be based on the Aircross EMP2 platform and will be launched in India with a 1.5-liter diesel engine that generates 131 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. This motor is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

For customers, the Citroen C5 Aircross will come with a modern look and features multi-tire set LED lights and the company has 19-inch alloy wheels. In addition, it has airdump door guards and LED tail lamps. This SUV will come with an upmarket SUV and it will be given a list of long features. It will get a panoramic sunroof, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a high-definition 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and reclining feature with folding rear seats. However, small size rims can be given in the upcoming model in India.

The French carmaker comes with a long-term partnership with the CK Birla Group in the Indian market, due to which it will be able to sell its vehicles in the Indian market. The two companies have formed a joint venture to operate an assembly plant in the country and distribute it to all states. In addition, Groupe PSA will produce and supply powertrains in partnership with Avtec Limited in another joint venture.
