CJI Bobde makes big statement about technology, says, 'There should be no delay in giving justice...'

In a special program on Saturday, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (CJI) Sharad Arvind Bobde said that there is a possibility of developing a system of artificial intelligence for the courts, to ensure that delays in getting justice are prevented. Bobde insisted on pre-litigation arbitration, given the background of a large number of pending cases in the courts. He called it the demand of time. He said these things in the 19th biennial state-level conference of judicial officers, which he also inaugurated.

In its statement, the CJI said that it is necessary for the courts to ensure that there is no delay in delivering justice. He said, 'We must employ every talent, every skill we have will ensure that justice gets done within a reasonable time frame. Delay in justice cannot be a reason for anyone to take law in their hands. It is very important for us that the courts ensure that there is no delay in delivering justice.'

Chief Justice said, 'We have the possibility to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the court system, only to ensure that undue delays in justice are prevented. I want to clarify that AI will not replace human judges. The conference was titled Judicial Process Reengineering and Judicial Skills Building.' In which other people including Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, Supreme Court judges Mohan M Shantanagoudar, S Abdul Nazir and Ajikutira Somaiya Bopanna and Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Abhay Srinivas Oka were present.
