Himachal Pradesh:  All schools, including the Anganwadi Centres, will be closed throughout the Kullu district, following incessant rains,  said Ashutosh Garg, Kullu Deputy Commissioner on Saturday morning.

Three persons are reportedly missing after a house collapsed early Saturday morning during a landslide caused by heavy rains in the Chamba district of the state, officials said.

The incident took place this morning at 4:30 a.m. in the village of Banet, in the district's Chowari tehsil, according to representatives of the Chamba district emergency operation centre (DEOC). DEOC authorities said, a search operation has been started with the assistance of police and revenue department staff.

Also, early this morning, a flash flood hit the Mandi district of the state, flooding homes and businesses, trapping people inside, and damaging cars parked on the road, according to officials.

It has been decided that all public and private educational institutions in the Mandi district, with the exception of colleges and ITI, will be closed on August 20 due to the two days of non-stop rain and the weather forecast calling for heavy rainfall in the coming 24 hours, according to an order issued by district deputy commissioner Arindam Chaudhary on Friday night.
